3D 立体地画是21世纪以后的地板艺术。它是利用透视图手法将立体透视图画在地板上,并且与地板周遭物结合,或者与行人作出有趣互动。

笃中初一班至高三班的学生在学校第一学期期末假期中在学校旧课室前的走廊上画3D立体地画。每一班的学生都跟着各班的主题在地面上发挥他们的创意,艺术及绘画天份。本校2位美术老师(梅瑜庭及黄国光)更是在各班的地画上给予指导及修正,最后每班的3D地画在规定的时间中诞生了!而这条笃中3D走廊在201771日正式开幕!

大马乐坛新力军,唱作俱佳的MORRIS 彭进成在去年(2016)曾到校为笃中达人比赛担任评审嘉宾。今年,他在68日正式发片并在他的母校(斗湖育进公学)举办他的演唱会,目的是为母校筹款。他这回馈母校及愿为华教出一份力的精神实在值得学习。很荣幸地,本校有着二胡王子称号的刘冠廷同学,及四位歌唱好手(洪进威,古祯诚,李繢杺,黄湘怡)受邀参与当晚的演出。当晚,刘冠廷同学成为了开场嘉宾,拉着他的小提琴为整个演唱会做了一个精彩的开场表演。此外,他也在TVB全球华人新秀歌唱大赛冠军及2016ASTRO新秀大赛亚军BRIAN周奕斌演唱中用二胡为他伴奏了两首歌。四位笃中小歌手则在演唱会中与MORRIS彭进成合唱了一首听你听我。本校借此机会祝这位实力唱作歌手MORRIS彭进成的唱片大卖,希望有机会可再次到校演

本校共有8位来自高一礼的学生及领队老师(张丽丽)526-30日赴沙巴崇正中学参加2017年第13届全国华文独中科学营。营会受到各校的热烈支持,全国共有39所独立中学的295位学生及老师参加。在创意海报设计比赛活动中,林恒信及张恺旭还有他们同组的组员一同设计出来的海报在61张的海报当中还获得前十名呢!深信这几天的营会让他们吸取了更多有关科学方面的新知识

 为了配合双亲节的到来,服务学习计划于513日和初三仁及初三善的学生走进拿笃FAJAR区及市区进行双亲节的活动,目的是宣扬敬老尊贤,也为社会增添温情关怀。学生把他们制作的卡片及花送给华裔家长,不乏巫裔,印裔及外国家长。当他们收到礼物及祝福时,脸展露了欢喜及感动的面容。这两班的学生更想趁着这感恩的日子祝愿所有的父母安康

2016年度SPM放榜,拿笃中学应届考生再次交出亮眼成绩,以各科表现而言,生物、物理、化学、美术及EST科技英文等科均100%及格,各科总及格率高达92.58%。报考本届SPM考试的考生共有46位,其中考获10A佳绩的有4位、6A1位、5A1位、4A1位、3A4位,约占考生人数的1/4。

2017笃中第18届常年运动会

 

这个星期六,日(21-22/1)就是拿笃中学一年一度的常年运动会。从开学至今,笃中的老师与同学都积极努力在做准备,为的就是要在当天呈现他们最好的一面。在短短的两个星期内,各队布置组的同学更是展现了他们的艺术天分,把各队各有特色的布条挂上。这里也要特别感谢PGA特地抽空为四队的步操队进行训练,步操队的每一位同学每天顶着太阳积极及认真地参与训练,笃中儿女这种精神,实在值得鼓励!今年,笃中秋月军鼓乐队进行了几天集训,谢谢军鼓的成员们每年都给运动会带来愉悦的气氛!初一的新生们也辛苦了,除了要适应中学的生活及作业外,每天都要进行步操及拉拉队的练习。各位同学,这些辛苦大家都看见了,看见了笃中儿女的优良素质,相信这些辛苦以后将会成为你们在中学生涯里最美好的回忆!大家加油

Report on Counselling (Life, Spiritual Preparation for Death and Dying Well) Workshop at  Dong Zhong, Kajang

 

A total number of 25 teachers from around Malaysia attended the counselling workshop held at Dong Zhong Most participants are school’s counsellors while some are school’s teachers who attended the course to increase their counselling knowledge and self inprovement.    The speaker is Mr Fong Yi Liang a counsellor and social worker for Xiao En Memorial Centre from West Malaysia came to share his experiences and knowledge on the subject of life and death preparation and bereavement care.

Preparing for death

Everyone regards death as taboo and refrain from talking about it. Death is painful and dark, it makes us lose what we love. It is lonely and most people are uable to accept it. Mr Fong Yi Liang enlightens the participants on spiritual preparation for death, death to reduce pain, dark and loneliness. Mr Fong helps us see and understand death.

There are two types of mentality for people who are ready to die. Firstly, he wants to know what will happen to him after his death. Secondly, if he can still think of his family after he dies. However, often people find it difficult to express their doubts, because people have chosen to face death in a silent manner. But this would actually make both the living and the dying even more lonely, helpless and desolate in their grief. Therefore, if the dying person wanted to speak about things after his passing, the family should listen with an open mind.

When loved ones passed away, the living should not try to get out of their grief in a hurry. What’s more, there is deep grief, from which one is never quite able to recover from. One can only learn to let it go. The extent of grief is especially deep for caregivers, who used to accompany the patient 24 hours a day. And one day, when he wakes up, he cannot find the person anymore. This type of change needs time to get used to.

After this pain has departed, it may still occasionally return. Whether one can eventually let go of the sorrow is very much linked to personality. If the person has an optimistic disposition he may be able to release his sorrow quickly. For those unable to recover fast, they will still slowly return to the calm and joy of positive energy.

How can one prepare for death?

In many cases, patients might feel that he did not do anything wrong, and so did not understand why he had to die. We should not regard death as some kind of punishment, as it is a natural process. Death is not something dark, terrifying or painful, because a peaceful death can happen.

Passing away peacefully is a subjective matter. This is because some people want company while some people prefer tranquility. It is all related to the wishes of each patient, and the caregiver should try to match the patient’s needs.

Mourning entails the dying saying goodbye properly, so that he can pass away without regrets. But some people will choose to leave in a quiet way. As such, not being able to say goodbye will also not affect his/her passing. All said, the living must still try to continue our journey joyfully.

Why do people feel the pain of death?

When the soul leaves the body, the person will feel great pain, because when we are living, we use our senses to have contact with the outside world. And when one is dying, one can feel the senses leaving the body one by one. The soul also feels great reluctance to leave behind what it used to possess when it was still alive and therefore experiences pain. In the process, also because they do not know where they will go after death, they will become distraught, and all these are nameless fears.

For the patient lying in bed, the most painful thing is when the body cannot move, but he is still very conscious. Chanting scriptures or listening to music at this time can deliver him from suffering. The loved ones can choose classics familiar to the dying person. For those who can still speak, we may ask them to chant with us. If not, then ask him to join the prayer in his heart. As long as the patient has belief that his faith can bring him to a peaceful place, then his dying can be calm and gentle.

Where do people go after death? Buddhism advocates that we do not touch or wipe the body of the deceased immediately after his death. This is because if the soul saw that his body was not treated properly, it could cause hatred in the soul and affect the chance of him attaining enlightenment. As such we should chant prayers for the dead in the 8 to 12 hours after the demise and the people doing the chanting must be sincere and faithful.

The theory that the body of the deceased cannot be touched within 8-12 hours after death is not a hard and fast rule. For the soul who had loved cleanliness or had mysophobia in its life, if it saw that its body was dirty after its passing away, it might become angry, and caused it unable to depart peacefully. Therefore, when faced with such a person, if his family could clean him up, and recite the prayers at the same time, the soul might be happier.

The issue of not touching the body after death also involves the question of whether the deceased is an organ donor. If the deceased had signed the organ donation card, then it meant that to some extent he was able to let go of his attachment to his body. However, if the family should insist that his body could not be touched 8-12 hours after his death, then they would be acting in contrary to the wishes of the deceased. Furthermore, if the organ was not quickly removed, it would not be able to save people.

Therefore, there are different approaches to the processing of the corpse as there are many different angles to the subject. Most important of all, the family of the deceased must understand the motivation and wishes of the deceased to avoid doing something that is contrary to his wishes.

2.  Report on Discipline Workshop (Internet Surfing Monitoring and Education) at  Dong Zhong, Kajang

 

A total number of 40 teachers from around Malaysia attended the discipline workshop held at Dong Zhong Most participants are school’s discipline teachers who attended the course to increase their knowledge on monitoring students’ internet surfing and self inprovement.  The speakers are mostly experienced discipline masters from various chinese independent high schools in West Malaysia who came to increase and gain more experiences and knowledge.

 

Internet Addiction

Nowadays school students are addicted to the internet. Schools are educating students on the consequences of spending long hours in the internet and the various websites surfed by the students. Pay Fong Middle school has conducted afternoon class to on computer lesson to educate their  students on  how to surf the internet wisely. The teacher has attended the worshop to introduce the purpose and the content of the lesson. The yearly lesson plan and the syllabusfor the lesson were shared. Students from Junior 1 and Junior 2 are educated on the basic of computer wise computer surfing and when they reach Junior 3, students are taught critical thinking skills in computer surfing. The speaker also introduced Wiser, a computer programme.

 

Overall, the workshop has enlightened the participants on how to monitor students on surfing websites and the pros and cons of high technology faciities used by the students nowadays.

讲座一:财政预算及消费税

讲师:蔡兆源讲师

最新国家的财政预算,让我们更简单明了的了解国家在财政预算所作出的策略和未来方向。而消费税这堂课,真正明白何谓消费税,也开始对消费税的机制有初步的认识,而消费税实行的方法,以及消费税对国家、商人及消费者所带来的影响,也作了深入的探讨。

此外,蔡讲师讲课的风范值得我们身为老师们学习,如何轻松讲课,而学生能开心学习,才是老师的最终目标。

 

讲座二:高效能商业学教师

讲师:孙福盛先生

这堂课我是被孙讲师的热情感动了,他在台上投入和认真的态度让我敬佩,讲师在课堂中加入了许多活动,活动中学习的确大大提高了学习的效能。

此课程的重点是高效能的七大习惯,分别是:

Report on Discipline Teachers’ Workshop at  Dong Zhong, Kajang

 

A total number of 45 teachers from around Malaysia attended the workshop sharing held at Dong Zhong Some of the discipline masters are very experienced while some are as new as 3 months experience discipline teachers appointed by their schools.  One of the speaker is from a local government school around Kajang Town, Professor Chen Lu Xiang and a few experienced discipline masters from West Malaysia Chinese Independent High Schools who came to share their experiences.

 

Sharing by Mr Chin Xin Yen, Keat Hwa High School and Mr Wong Yau Hung, Confucian High School

1st speaker is from Keat Hwa High School, Alor Setar. He has 22 years teaching experiences. Mr Chen Xin Yen shared his past experiences being a discipline master. He advised those present not to discipline nowadays students based on their past experiences. However, they should cultivate students’ leadership skills, guide and lead them. He also mentioned that every class form teachers has the responsibility to manage their own class of students. Any activities held in school such as food bazaar, marathon or sports events are managed by their own class. This is also a way to assess the form teacher’s credibility in classroom management.  If a form teacher is serious towards his or her class, students will not create any disciplinary problems.  Form teacher acts as the parent for the class of students.

 

There are some suggestions by Mr Chen Xin Yen on how to create a positive classroom atmosphere. Form teacher plays a vital role. He suggested that form teachers can request their students to draw what kind of form teacher they wish to have. New form teachers should attend classroom management course. Experienced form teachers can share their experiences with new teachers on how to manage classroom. In-house training for new teachers is vital. Experienced form teachers and discipline department can guide new teachers and enquire from time to time if they encounter any problems in their teaching process.

 

Mr Chen Xin Yen further mentioned that form teachers can bring their own class of students for field trip to expose them to life experience and learn some moral values. Form teacher can offer

their handphone number to their students in order to allow students to get to know them better or to consult them if they face any problem. Form teachers can record their students’ behaviour in a record book and to rectify if any students face disciplinary problems.

 

There are different perspective in handling students’ disciplinary problems in the school.  Students have different value towards their school and themselves.  It is important to cultivate good discipline among the students. Before handling any students’ disciplinary problems, teachers should first understand the student’s background.  The main discipline aim is to  instil long term good discipline in every students.

 

Another good suggestion is to offer recognition award to students who have performed well in school other than academically. As some students are weak academically, they do not pose any disciplinary problems. These students can be awarded based on their attendance, their co-operation and service towards the school or show good conduct. These students will be recognised and be openly praised by putting up their picture, class and the award they obtain on the school discipline notice board to publicly praise them.

 

The school and classroom cleanliness should be checked by subject teachers. It was suggested that if the class obtained the 1st place for consecutively three weeks in a row, the class of students will be awarded a minor merit while the class that is consecutively obtained the last positiion, the class of students will get a minor demerit. This will encourage a healthy competition among the students.

 

The school also offer monetary award to top and excellent teachers or form teachers in the school who have put in their effort and committed towards their work. Mr Chen Xin Yen ended his sharing by saying that “ The work (discipline students) is extremely hard, but by the end of the day, it is the result and satisfaction you gain after you have settled the problem.

 

Sharing by Mdm Lai Lee Ping, Batu Pahat Chinese High School

Mdm Lai shared on how to cultivate discipline in our students so they become responsible and trustworthy citizens. In the process of handling every discipline matters, teachers can guide students to handle their own problem, discuss with them and teach them how to express. Love is important. Because of love, we are hurt. Family plays a vital role in cultivating love in every child. It is a place full of love. Students should learn to respect each other and learn the importance of  verbal expression.

 

Teachers should cultivate positive teaching and inculcate kindness in themselves. Students should not be blamed regularly. Never use harsh words to criticise students, cold treatment and label students. The power of language can be both beautiful and hurtful. Some students need emotional counselling.

 

As teachers, we should understand what our students require and need. Teacher should understand how students can cultivate their confidence by showing confidence when teaching their students. It is when students quarel or fight that they will get to know each other better. For those who fight, there will be “forgiveness ceremony” where both the students will bow 90° to offer forgiveness and to state whether they accept the forgiveness. These students will then hug each other. It is believed hugging brings positive effect to these students. This is only for students of the same sex and not of different sex. Pictures will be taken to prove that these students have reconciled and are friends again.

 

Sharing by Professor Chu Lu Xiang

It is important for school to set up a Crisis Unit in handling any crisis. This unit will always be prepared and respond to any crisis in and around the school. The main aim of this unit is to reduce harm and injuries caused by any crisis in the school. It is discovered that experiences can be gained through handling crisis.

 

Showing concern is vital when there is crisis. It is a natural instinct in every human. During a crisis, always put yourself in the victim’s shoes. This will enable you to feel and experience the pain of those who are facing the crisis.

 

Danger versus Chance. After a crisis, one can gain strength, grow and develop. One should grab the opportunity to learn and grow during crisis. It is everyone’s attitude to offer help during a crisis. We can prevent unwanted accident from happening. The school can build up a crisis unit to handle any crisis in the school. The appointed teacher will handle the crisis and write a detail report to the principal after the crisis. It is important to report the right message to the media and society in order to produce a positive image.

 

During a crisis, the Crisis Unit must control the situation in order to reduce harm to a minimum level. Anyone is discouraged from taking pictures during the crisis moment and share in the social media website. This may worsen the problem. It is important on how we treat the matter. We should show gratitude and appreciation to ourselves and people around us when handling a crisis.

 

PTSR – Post Traumatic Stress Reaction occurs after an incident or accident. There is a proper procedure to go through. Students may face problems such as flasbacks or nightmare after the incident or accident. Some students may choose to avoid facing the truth after a crisis. Teacher can continue to observe if the student persist having this syndrome. Some students may take shorter period to recover while some will take longer. Some become emotional unstable and easily distracted. They are affected by the slightest happening.

 

PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder needs serious attention. Not all wounds are visible. Some students may fall sick and this may persist for more than a month. This student may blame himself and thus making the situation worse. An example given is the case of the Korea Shipwreck where the multi-storey ferry carrying 475 people,  mostly Danwon High School students. Almost 300 people missing. The vice-principal of a South Korean high school who accompanied hundreds of pupils on a ferry that capsized has committed suicide, as hopes faded of finding any of the 274 missing alive. He appeared to have hanged himself with his belt from a tree outside a gym in the port city of Jindo where relatives of the people missing on the ship, mostly children from the school, were gathered.This case revealed that it is important to educate people on crisis handling. They are 4P – Prevention, Procedure, Practice and Prevention. School can educate both teachers and students on crisis prevention such as organising fire drill practise, talks, exhibition to educate them.
